Getting Started

  1. Form a group of men that you want to develop into a prayer group.
  2. Contact your friends via email or other to introduce them to the concept.  See Tools to get sample introduction emails
  3. Contact pray@twogather.org to set up new users for the online community which will be explained further below.
  4. Once you have agreement from everyone schedule a kick off conference call to further discuss the idea and gain alignment on the go forward plan.

Prayer Requests

  1. The online Community that we will set up for your group is completely secure and only those invited to your prayer group can access the information posted.  We will provide two sections for posting; 1) Prayer Requests and 2) What's on my mind and more if you wish
  2. In the Prayer Requests section we typically post specific prayer requests and other members of the group will pray for you directly on line by typing in a brief prayer for you.  It is often followed by some other comments but not always.  We are finding that as we type in the prayer for the person we are actually praying at the same time.  Others have the opportunity to pray along with you when they read your prayer.  Other members will often follow up your prayer with one of their own.
  3. In the "What's on my mind..." section members will post topics of discussion.  Often we find that as we discuss things we turn that into prayer asking together that God will touch something in our own hearts or in the world we live.  Our goal with all of this is to bring everything back to the Lord instead of to our own wisdom.

Weekly Conference Call

  1. On a weekly basis we gather for a 30 minute conference call to pray together for the things that were posted during the week.  To facilitate that prayer time, we rotate the responsibility of "Call Coordinator".  The Call Coordinator is responsible for the following:
  2. Set up a call in number by using www.freeconference.com and inform the group of the dial in information (using an Outlook meeting request is suggested)
  3. Act as the central clearinghouse for all prayer requests for the group
  4. Review the postings on your Community from the past week and prepare for the call
  5. Begin the call promptly on time to show respect for the others time
  6. At the beginning of the call, quickly review the prayer requests that have been posted during the week.  Note:  This is only a starting point and it is not expected that this will be the only topics covered during this call.
  7. Kick off the prayer time
  8. Promptly close the call at the agreed upon time
  9. Remind everyone who the Call Coordinator is for the next call
  10. Send a note to the Call Coordinator for the next week's call as a reminder

If you are interested in starting up your own secure online community and weekly conference call please contact us and we would be glad to help get you started.  We have tools available to make the launch very easy.
